5. NEW BUSINESS <br />a Additional Property Acquirement: Author - <br />izati n was requested to proceed in acquiring three <br />(3) properties, which are found not feasible for <br />rehabilitation, in the LaSalle Park Urban Renewal <br />Proje t, R -57, as follows: <br />Parcel Nos. 7 -10, 29 -12 and 29 -17. <br />1) Parcel No. 7 -10: The owner is anxious <br />for tie Commission to acquire this property, as soil <br />investigation shows it is not feasible for rehabili- <br />tatioi due to a spring which runs along the founda- <br />tion f the house. The basement is very damp and <br />shows signs of settling. <br />2) Parcel No. 29 -12: The cost to rehabili- <br />tate this property would be $8,787.00. This property, <br />upon learance, can be used for church property, or <br />for Greater South Bend Housing Corporation's additional <br />needs <br />3) Parcel No. 29 -17: This property has been <br />vacan for seven years and will not be rehabilitated <br />by th out -of -town owners. The property owner to the <br />South of this structure is interested in acquiring the <br />land as soon as it is cleared. <br />The C air entertained a motion to secure appraisals <br />and t proceed in acquiring these properties. On <br />motioi by Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr. Helmen, the <br />above stated motion was approved. Approval was unani- <br />mous. <br />b. Change Order 3B, Contract Div. II: This Change <br />Order is for the final cost figures for the North half <br />of Chapin and Western Avenue of the innerbelt thorough- <br />fare system, in the Chapin Street Urban Renewal Project, <br />R -29. This is an increase of $2,223.45, and the con- <br />tract time is not changed. The City Engineer has con- <br />fi med the extra work and materials. The Chair enter- <br />tained a motion for approval of Change Order 3B, Con- <br />tract Div. II, and motion was so carried by Mr. Wilhelm, <br />seconded by Rev. Williams, and adoption of the Change <br />Order was unanimously approved in the stated amount. <br />PARCEL NOS. 7 -10, <br />29 -12 & 29 -17, <br />LASALLE PARK URBAN <br />RENEWAL PROJECT, <br />R-57 <br />CHANGE ORDER 3B, <br />CONTRACT DIU.
