Mrs. Szabo is just <br />outside of the boundary for the LaSalle Park;Urban <br />Renewal Project, R -57, and Mr.-Bellinger apprised thus <br />far no successful communication has been received from <br />the UD office to assist.Mrs. Szabo. Mr. Helmen- stated <br />that the Project line had to be drawn somewhere. Mr. <br />Bellinger apprised that the home, in question appears <br />to be in good repair. It was concurred by the Com -. <br />miss on that they do not- know -if the Commission can <br />do anything for Mrs. Szabo at this time. <br />6. Neighborhood-Development Pro ram South of NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOP - <br />the Central Business - istrict; Mr. a i-nger ap «; MENT PROGRAM <br />pris d the action tacen,by the City.Council'at their <br />last meeting directed the Department -of Redevelopment <br />to b gin the necessary studies and.fnvestigatfons <br />leading to the Neighborhood Development Program-South <br />of t e Central Business District, with first priority <br />of activity in the Ohio - Keasey area. Authorization <br />was requested from the Commission to "secure proposals <br />from competent professional consultants and have this <br />information.for the Commission's consideration as soon <br />as possible. On motion by Mr. Chenney, seconded by <br />Mr, Felmen, the staff'was authorized to-.contact con <br />sult nts interested in-this work. <br />Mrs. Janet Allen urged the Commission to concentrate <br />on the Ohio - Keasey area and not the whole: project <br />area. President Wiggins stated the Neighborhood <br />Development Concept provides that a large target <br />area can be picked out, but can chart a course on.an <br />annual basis and assign priorities He stated" the_ <br />Commission and staff are in accord with Mrs. Allen's <br />request and the Ohio - Keasey area should be the first <br />actin area. <br />Mr, Bellinger read Resolution No. 207 -69, in which <br />the Common Council requests the'Redevelopment Com- <br />mission to initiate steps to invest -igate and develop <br />an Application for a Neighborhood Development Program <br />covering the general area located south of the central <br />business district with priority consideration given <br />to the area generally referred to as the Ohio - Keasey <br />area, adopted the 10th day of March, 1969, by-the <br />Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />-5- <br />
