Weinstein is- requesting the pro- <br />perty not be purchased and be removed from our acqui- <br />siti n program, as it would create a financial hard- <br />ship upon the remaining portion of land he owns and <br />whict is contiguous to the subject parcel. The land <br />in q estion is vacant property. On motion by Mr. <br />Wilh lm, seconded by Mr. Chenney, the staff and legal <br />counsel, Mr. Bruce C. Hammerschmidt, are to explore <br />the ituation and submit the information at the next <br />meet ng. <br />A. Epstein and Sons, Inc. letter dated <br />March 14 1969: 'The letter is -from Mr. Paul Finfer, <br />who is no— w�6irector of Urban Planning with the above <br />firm in Chicago -- founded in 1921 -- having a staff of <br />more than 400 people, who plan -and design over 120 <br />million dollars of building projects each year. Mr. <br />Finf r was the project director with City Planning <br />Associates, Inc., who was the consulting firm for <br />the entral Downtown Urban Renewal Project, R -66. <br />This letter is to advise our staff of his new posi- <br />tion. offering his services, if we do desire for <br />future activities, with the Chicago firm. Presi- <br />dent Wiggins stated that A.
