We have eight families and one individual on site- -
year and a half ago we had 180, in R -57. `The report
shows the families who have been relocated to date and
the section of town in which they have moved. Mr. Bel-
linger apprised the Commission that the important item
here is that it certainly compounds the statement that
all families tend to be relocated on one street, or one
section of a community and this is an excellent illus-
tration of the effectiveness. The recommendation
was made that Mrs. Witherspoon spend some time with out
staff for the purpose of discussing programs involving
rehabilitation. Mr. Bellinger suggested Mrs. Wither-
spoon give our Department a call to set up a time to
discuss these programs, as her organization, in our
judgmen is going to be helpful in explaining and be
an aeti g liason between the neighborhood people and
governm ntal agencies.
Bend Hot
and hig}
if we ci
is an al
Salle Ui
and som(
permit
ments.
in this
Mrs. Allen suggested we get the Greater South
sing Authority to put up some really nice moderate
- income apartments in the LaSalle Park area and
uld push this through. Mr. Bellinger said this
tractive feature of the amendatory for the La-
,ban Renewal Project where we secure vacant lots
additional developed properties, which will
ppropriate size parcels for garden -type apart -
Mrs. Witherspoon has expressed prior interest
type of development.
