Mr. Bellinger said this is an
^active feature of the amendatory for the LaSalle Urban
?wal Project where we secure vacant lots and some addi-
zal developed properties, which will permit appropriate
parcels for garden -type apartments. Mrs. Witherspoon
expressed prior interest in this type of development.
;ident Wiggins said as we have made progress in LaSalle
c and site improvements are :put in, -the credibility gap
been greatly lessened. New interest has been developed
:he part of many people in the LaSalle Park area, and
: we are going to see substantial changes happen in atti-
s and this has been a serious problem in the past. This
be a very fine location for a great many people. He
I if the demand is there, we will find it.
Mrs. Allen asked if a place has been found for_
Nesbitt? Mr. Bellinger apprised the Commission that
Department has not received authorization to secure
properties under the amendatory. We are aware of Mr.
itt's requirements and have done the preliminary in-
igation. The staff is assured that a reasonable relo-
on site can be secured for -Mr. Nesbitt and our Relocation
f is aware of Mr. Nesbitt's needs and requirements.
Mr. Marchmont Kovas asked if we are taking options
on the downtown projects. Mr. Bellinger said: "No. Not
yet. Our initial plan was to secure options, at least on
the post- office site, in the near future subject to HUD's
app oval."
7.
