The LaSalle Park <br />District Council filed complaint with the Redevelopment Department <br />that the preliminary priority list for acquisition and relocation <br />is unaccept ble, feeling that the central part of the project area <br />is•the most blighted., The complaint will be considered, and the_. <br />Redevelopment Department will do everything possible to bring <br />satisfactory results. Temporary housing is the problem faced, but, <br />after discu sion. of the pros and cons of the block houses for <br />temporary reilocation,, the Redevelopment Commission agreed that <br />these would not be used. Some possibilities to aid temporary - <br />relocation iscussed were (1) development of leased properties <br />by the Public Housing Authority, and (2) private construction of <br />apartments o be sold to the Public Housing Authority. <br />g. Street I rovements LaSalle Park R -57. The residents <br />also expressed disappointment over the schedule for street improve- <br />ments and a ked why couldn't Jefferson or Washington Streets be <br />paved this summer as they are in such terrible condition. It <br />will be abo t 4 to 6 months before construction contracts could <br />be awarded tecause Engineering Services require accurate studies <br />and preparation of drawans, specifications, bid documents. Also, " <br />separation cf storm and sanitary sewers, affording better project <br />services, will be designed and installed at the time of street <br />improvements, along with planning the relocation of other <br />utilities a the same time.
