The Commission approved the motion.made by Mr. Helmen, PUBLIC HOUSING <br />seconded_ by Mr. Kompar, that the North Central Appraisal Company SITE APPRAISAL <br />updated appraisal for the Chapin Street Project Public Housing R -29 <br />Site be accepted. The appraisal is confidential at this time. <br />b. The Commission voted to approve the investment of <br />$46,119.1 in,U. S. Treasury Bills for 10 months, from the Urban <br />Redevelopment Bond Redemption Fund. The money will be refunded- - <br />at 4.58% interest, due November -301 1966. Motion was made <br />by Mr. Louis, seconded by Mr. Kompar. <br />c. M . Richard A. XuC%A sel, Jr. did appraisal work and made <br />cause testimonies for the Sample Street Project, R -7, in 1963, <br />but,has been negligent in filing claims until this time. Upon <br />the motior of Mr. Kompar, seconded.by:Mr. Louis, the-Commission <br />approved ayment of this claim as developed by -the Staff with <br />former an present Commission attorneys, in the amount of $110. <br />7. NEW BUSINESS <br />a. Ur-on receiving federal approval, the Redevelopment <br />Department purchased the two buildings only on the property <br />owned by Mr. Caras in the Sample Street Project. In order to <br />demolish these buildings, the Staff secured two cost estimates. <br />Rieth -Riley Construction Company, Inc., quoted $785.00 and <br />includes the capping of the utilities. Ritaehard Brothers <br />quoted $820.00 and does not include capping utilities. The <br />Commission approved the motion of Mr. Helmen, seconded by- <br />Mr. Louis, that the demolition contract be awarded to Rieth- Riley <br />Construction Co., Inc:, subject to- review by the Redevelopment <br />attorney and the Housing.and;Urban Development Department (HUD). <br />b. It is necessary for the Redevelopment Commission to <br />engage a court recorder for the taking of the minutes'of the <br />Public Hearing-for LaSalle Park, February 14, 1966. No action'is <br />required b the Commission, and -Mr. Chong has secured the services <br />of Mrs. Ma querite Hutchinson, who also recorded the public <br />hearing mi utes for the Chapin Street Project. <br />c. Mr. Glenn Barbe, Assistant Director, has received two <br />bid proposals by moving companies, both in the neighborhood of <br />$350.
