South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Rescheduled Regular Meeting -November 2, 2007
6. NEW BUSINESS
A. Public Hearing
(7) continued...
parking on the street. That's during baseball
season, there's no parking on the street. My
question is, is that, with all the moves
redevelopment, is there going to be parking,
are we going to be able to have any more
parking spaces? I know that next door to us,
GCC, they only have six parking spaces
there. So parking is becoming a problem
down there. Since they closed parking off
right there, we take chances. Sometimes we
have to pay parking tickets on Sundays, as
we have evening services. We have to pay
parking tickets, especially during baseball
season. I try to schedule church services
opposite the baseball games, so we won't run
into that big traffic thing there, but I was just
wondering about the parking. That parking
right there off of Taylor St.? Is that going to
be lifted, or since the entry way is supposed
to be moved...
MR. GIBNEY: I want to say that in terms of
parking, and we have been involved with the
Granger new facility there, too. Parking will
be a major consideration as part of the plan,
so I thank you for your comment about your
attending the meetings. You will be invited
to all the meetings that take place. As you
make your contributions, suggestions, for
your existing businesses, please talk about
parking as one of the key issues. I can't give
you an answer right now. There won't be
any spades and shovels in the ground for a
significant period of time, but we will come
up with a plan that we will give a budget for
and that will be taken into consideration.
40
