4
MC
ir:m S era a_ui uIIVa
Government Center Energy Recovery Ventflafion System
A new energy recovery ventilation (ERV) system was installed on the upper level roof at the Government
Center to provide conditioned minimum ventilation air to the FCUs.
How Say.1m Were DeteEMlned —The energy savings for the Government Center Energy Recovery Ventilation
System were calculated using eQUEST, which is a DOE2 energy simulation software. The baseline eQUEST input
file details the building components, occupancy schedules, lighting schedules, equipment efficiencies, etc. in
order to establish the building's baseline energy consumption. The modeled energy consumption was
compared to, and adjusted to match, the actual utility bill data. Modifications were then made to the baseline
energy model to simulate the energy savings that result from installing an energy recovery ventilation system
to provide conditioned outside air for minimum ventilation to all of the FCUs. The minimum outside air is
ducted to the FCUs at the point of or return air transition to the fan coils.
