<br />AWARD BID — SEVENTEEN (17) MORE OR LESS, 2019 OR NEWER MID -SIZE FOUR
<br />DOOR HYBRID SEDAN, AUTOMOBILES — SPEC H (POLICE DEPT. CAPITAL
<br />LEASE/WATER WORKS CAPITAL, FIRE DEPT. CAPITAL)
<br />Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on April 23, 2019, bids were received
<br />and opened for the above referenced equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak
<br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the most responsive, responsible bidder
<br />Jordan Ford, 609 E. Jefferson Blvd., Mishawaka, IN 46545 in the total amount of $416,143, for
<br />seventeen (17) units. It was noted by Mr. Hudak that the lowest bidder did not meet bid
<br />specifications. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and
<br />the bid be awarded as outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — 2019 TREE AND STUMP REMOVAL — PROJECT NO. 119-012

<br />Ms. Alicia Czarnecki, Engineering, advised the Board that on April 23, 2019, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Ms.
<br />Czarnecki recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and
<br />responsible bidder, K&R Tree Service LLC, 1724 S. Grant St., South Bend, IN 46613, in the
<br />amount of $27,055. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion,
<br />which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — CENTURY CENTER UPGRADES AND RENOVATIONS —
<br />PROJECT NO. 118-104A-R (HOTEL/MOTEL TAX)
<br />Ms. Becca Plantz, Engineering, advised the Board that on April 23, 2019, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Ms.
<br />Plantz recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, R. Yoder Construction, Inc., 27453 CR 150, PO Box 69, Nappanee, IN 46550, in the
<br />amount of $89,500. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion,
<br />which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — LAFAYETTE BUILDING DRAIN REPLACEMENT — PROJECT
<br />NO. 119-042A (RWDA TIF)
<br />Mr. Kyle Silveus, Engineering, advised the Board that on April 23, 2019, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Mr.
<br />Silveus recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Niezgodski Plumbing, Inc., 232 N. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN 46619, in the amount
<br />of $37,127. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the
<br />quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO REJECT QUOTATIONS — HYDRANT FLOW TESTING —
<br />PROJECT NO. 119-041_(WATER WORKS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES)
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Charlotte Brach, Engineering, requested permission to
<br />reject all quotes for the above referenced project due to the specifications needing to be re -done.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. O'Sullivan and carried, the
<br />above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 7 — BOLAND TRAIL — PROJECT NO. 113-047
<br />(FEDERAL/CITY)
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Roger Nawrot, Engineering, has submitted Change Order No. 7 on
<br />behalf of Indiana Department of Transportation, PO Box 429, LaPorte, IN 46352, indicating the
<br />contract completion date be increased by forty (40) days. Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik,
<br />seconded by Ms. O'Sullivan and carried, the Change Order was approved.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 — MIAMI STREET BASIN IMPROVEMENTS —
<br />PROJECT NO. 116-082C (SSDA TIF)
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Roger Nawrot, Engineering, has submitted Change Order No. 2 on
<br />behalf of HRP Construction, Inc., 5777 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46624, indicating the
<br />contract completion date be increased by six (6) additional days for a new contract completion
<br />date of May 18, 2019. Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. O'Sullivan and
<br />carried, the Change Order was approved.
