Light to be placed at L gan and Scott Sts. <br />Financial report.of the Cemetery Sexton filed. <br />Remonstrance,filed for sewer in Paris Street from Fellows Street to <br />Carroll Street. <br />Petition filed for proposed ladder factory at 846 Smith Street <br />River Park and referred to the Building Commissioner. <br />Excavation bond for $1,0.00.00 filed by Philip.Cohn and the National <br />Surety Company. <br />Contractors bond for the sum of One Thou and Dollars signed by <br />Alex Frederick approved for repair job and to be released upon repairs being completed. <br />Complaint about pole in way of gate in front of house at 418 So <br />Meade Street, Pole and wire inspector made the rollowin repo is This a Home Ted. <br />Co. R-., <br />Co. <br />To the Honobable Board of Public Works, <br />of the City of South Bend, <br />In the matter of the Condemnation Resolution Numbered 61. <br />for the opening of a street from Sample Street South, on the West one -Eighth section <br />line of Sections 15 and 229 in Township 37 North, Range 2 East, South Bend, Indiana, <br />to Prairie Avenue. <br />NDED REMONSTRANCE OF NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY. <br />Now York Central Railroad Company, one of the propert owners whose' <br />property will be affected by the opening of said proposed street, respectfully remon- <br />strates against said proposed action, on each of the following grounds: <br />First: That there is no public'necessity for the opening of said street. <br />Second: That said proposed street or highway would cross through what is <br />common ly known as the Oliver Yards of this remonstrant; and will cross five tracks which <br />this remonstrantnow has constructed and in use as a part of its yards. That in addition' <br />to crossing said tracks of this remonstrant, slid street or highway will cross yard tracks <br />of the Grand Trunk Railway.Compagy and one or more tracks'of the New Jersey Indiana - <br />& Illinois Railway Company. That the said tracks of this remonstrant and said Grand Trunk <br />Railway Company are all in-opperation in the carriage of freight and passengers in -inter - <br />and Intro State commerce. That these tracks parallel wach other and lie in -such close <br />proximity that they preactically form a single railroad yard. That this remonstrant sever <br />several years -ago purchased additional land in the vicinity of this proposed crossing <br />and ppreppaared plans for the purpose of enlarging its yards in that ticinit ; by installing <br />10 additional tracks that it selected this particular vicinity for the enlargement of <br />its said yard-- which has only been delayed because of the war, and of financial, <br />conditions reAulting therefrom-- because there were no streets crossing its said tracks <br />f at the time of the construction of its present yards; and the selection and purchase <br />of said real estate for the construction of additional trackage; that in making this <br />selection, and in laying out its said yards, it,did so with regard to the use of Olive, <br />Street, which will accommodate all traffic in and out of the proposed territory soti ht to. <br />e'reacheA by said proposed street; and in planning its said yards, this remonstrant <br />reduced the bumber of its tracks°at Olive Street------ tracks, so that the use of <br />same would not be rendered impracticable and unsafe by:reason.of eontihuous'switehi <br />over said street; that, the land of this remonstrant -which is oocupiod Wy said tfias �s <br />
