South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br /> Regular Meeting—June 14, 2012 <br /> 6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br /> B. Airport Economic Development Area <br /> (1) continued... <br /> Ms. Kolata is the brownfield environmental <br /> specialist and thought it appropriate to have <br /> legal council guide staff through the <br /> remediation process. The city legal <br /> department has signed off on the use of <br /> Plews Shadley Racher& Braun. Staff asks <br /> that the Commission approve the engagement <br /> letter. <br /> Mr. Varner asked what the total amount of <br /> the contract is expected to be. Mr. Inks <br /> responded that the firm would be used only <br /> as needed, so we don't have a real sense of <br /> how much that might be. Mr. Varner thought <br /> the Commission should put a cap on the cost. <br /> If it is going to require more, then come back <br /> to the Commission for approval of more. <br /> Mr. Varner suggested a not-to-exceed <br /> amount of$25,000. Mr. Inks thought that <br /> should be sufficient. <br /> Upon a motion by Mr. Varner, seconded by COMMISSION APPROVED THE ENGAGEMENT <br /> Mr. Alford and unanimously carried, the LETTER FROM FLEWS SHADLEY RACHER& <br /> Commission approved the Engagement letter BRAUN FOR LEGAL SERVICES RELATED TO THE <br /> UNION STATION TECHNOLOGY CENTER IN AN <br /> from Plews Shadley Racher& Braun for AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED$25,000 <br /> legal services related to the Union Station <br /> Technology Center in an amount not to <br /> exceed $25,000. <br /> (2) Proposal for retail study for LaSalle <br /> Square grocery store. <br /> Mr. Relos noted as part of the ongoing efforts <br /> to improve the retail environment of the <br /> LaSalle Square area, the neighborhood has <br /> 6 <br />
