<br />W REAS, the Beard' of Public 'forks an the "28th. day of Jan ary.1919.
<br />d id adopt. a res olut ion ,, ordered and requiring the permanent ieiprovemeut of Linden
<br />Avenue Pram Walnut Street to Anthony Street by paving the roadway of the same, and.
<br />WHEREAS, .the City Civil Engineer has prepared and filed in the office
<br />of this Board a report she ibg the number and location of ` the servide pipes, mains, ;
<br />conduits, laterals, and ecnaecti s -whieh are, or will be neees"Py to accc date
<br />the 'abutting property - aad the Downers thereof with gas, -water , sewer, and , other c on- '
<br />veniences artd necessaries and also said City Civil Engin"r has prepared and filed in
<br />said off ice spec i'icat ions showing the meter tal to be used the moaner of laying
<br />said "rV ice pipes, ma is , "esx duits, laterals and connect ieffis Pram the mains 'to the
<br />points inside of the curb "lines.
<br />THEREFORE, be.it res dived by the Beard of Public Works of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, that the report of the City Civil EagiXoei ..is adapted, and
<br />snid report and the spec if icon lens prepared sad. . filed by him are made a part of this
<br />resolution as fully and effectually as if copied herein at full lengtU,and it . is
<br />further ordered that i'll of such private connections with the sewer,, gas and water
<br />mains be made in said. street by bringing them intide the curb 1:1ne:s thereof.
<br />And .be it furtherres olved that notice by publ icat ion for two successive
<br />days in the South Bead Tribune, a newspaper Of general circulation. printed and published
<br />in the City of South Bend, Indiana, be given tothe owners of the property abutting
<br />upon said street to -be improved directing them to make such sewer and water connecting
<br />on or before the 24th. , day - of April, 1919 and that If said c exuec t ions are n6t made_
<br />rs oor before said time and in accordance with the spec if icat one and, report on, f ile
<br />in the office of the Board of Public Works, the'nsaid Board will cause the ,same, :t© be. made.
<br />and wall assess the cost thereof against, the- .pr oparty abutting upon said street, and
<br />do all -other things. pertaining thereto according to the provisions and require -
<br />Monts of Ord iaance No. 1842 odepted by the Common Ceunle 1 of the City of South Bead,
<br />©a duly 24,1916 and of. ail.other ordinaaces sad laws relaing thereto.
<br />And be it further resolved and ordered that after the. 20 day; period
<br />has elapsed for the making of said connections by the property owners, as notice shall. be,
<br />published for two weeks, once each weak, in the $oath Bead Tribune, o aewispaper of
<br />general circulation published in said City, requesting bids from contractors for the
<br />making of �dcb corAectibxs. as be** not been made by the property owners, aad such notice
<br />shall fix{ aT day , net earlier than ten days after the first of such public ions,when
<br />bids shall be opened and a contract let for the doing of said work.
<br />And be it furthe ordered that- the Northers: 'Indlaaa Gas and Electric
<br />Company, Which holds a franchise from, and is empowerod by said City- to furnish►
<br />art if icol gas aad to the c it-iaen:s thereef, and it engaged in said bus intse in said City,.
<br />is hereby directed to make and install all sere ice_ c onneet iona with its mains in said
<br />street in accordance with the prov is ions- of Ordinance No. 1555# adopted June 27,19100
<br />and such Lot
<br />bar ordinances or Iaws applicable thereto; whieb canoe etiens are shown upon:
<br />the report of the City Civil Engineer, and which are hereby dselsred sadto be necessary
<br />ih eupplying gas to tine owners of property abutting upon -said street.
