<br />property andi- the owners thereof with gas, water, sewer and other conveniences and
<br />necessaries; and also said City Civil. Engineer has prepared and filed in said office
<br />spec if icat ions showing the matey i.a l to be used and the manner of laying said service
<br />pipes, mains, conduits; laterals and connections from-tha mainsto the points inside
<br />Of the curb lines.
<br />THEREFORE, be it res clved . by the Board of Public Works of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, that the re.,port of the City Engineer is adopted, and said report
<br />and the -specifications prepared and filed by him .are made a naa,rt of this resolution as
<br />fully' and effectual`ly as if copied Yi6r(i�E iN at full length. and it is further ordered
<br />that all of such pr ivaa,te c onnect ions with the - sewer; gas and water ma ins be made in
<br />said street; by bringing them inside the curb lines thereof,
<br />And "bc it further resolved that now ice by publica,t ion f or two successive
<br />days in the South Bend Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation pr intend and
<br />pub l is died in the `City of South Bend, Ind Iaana, be given to the owners of the property
<br />abutting upon said street to be improved directing them. to make such sewer and water con-
<br />nections on or before the 14th, , day of April 1919 and that if said connections are
<br />not .made on or before saa, id t ime and in accordance with the specifications nd report
<br />or, f ile in the office of the Board of Publi Works,then said Beard of Public Works.. -
<br />then said Board will cause the same tobe , made and will :assess the cost thereof
<br />against the property abutting upon said street, and, shall do all ether things pertaining
<br />thereto aa,cc ord ing to the provisions and requirements of Ordinance No. 1842 ,adopted by the
<br />Common Council of the City of South Bend on July 24,1916, and of all other ordinances
<br />and laws relating thereto.
<br />And, be it -further res olvgd and ordered that after the 80 day.period has
<br />elapsed for :the making of ,s,a id connect ionl . by the property owners, a notice shall be
<br />publs ihed for. two weeks, once each week, in the South Bend Tribune, a newspaper of
<br />General circulation published in, said .0 ity, requesting bids fr omthe contracts for the
<br />making of such �c onnect ions as .have not been made by the ppoperty owners ► and such notice
<br />shall ; i.x a day, not earl er than ten days after the first of such publications when
<br />bids shall.'b4 opened and aa, _contract let for the doing of said work.
<br />-And be it further`- orda,red that the Northern Indiana Gas & Electric Company
<br />which holds a franchise from, and is empowered by said City to fiirliliai art if ical.
<br />gas to the citizens thereof, and is engaged in said -business in s: ld City, is ,hereby
<br />directed to make and inataa,ll all service connections with its mains in said street in
<br />moo-ordance with, the provisions of Ord finance No. 1555, adopted June 27,1910, and such
<br />order ordinances or laws applicable thereto; with connections -are shGwn..upon the report
<br />of ,the City C iv i.l, Engineer, and which are hereby- declared to be necessary in supplying
<br />Baas to the owners of property abutting upon said street.
