<br />SIDEWALK DAPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO 642.
<br />Resolved by,the Board of Public Works of the City. of South Bend, St.
<br />Joseph County,: State of . Indiana, , That it is deemed necessary to improve La Salle .
<br />Avenue from the Bridge over the St:_,.Joseph River to the -Bridge over the East Race
<br />as follows, to -wit: ,
<br />Cement`sidewalk shall be constructed an both Bides of said La
<br />Salle Avenue where same is not already constructed; all as is more particularly
<br />shown and all in adcordance with the plans, prof ilas, detail drawings , and spec i
<br />f ie'at ions or, file in the off ice ' of the Department of Public Works of the City of
<br />South Bend, `Indiana, in accordance with the profile, details; drawings and speci-
<br />f icat ions onf ile in the office of the -Department of Public Works of said City; and
<br />such improvement is ''now ordered.
<br />'The cost. of said improvement , inctudins the cost of street and
<br />alley intersections, shall be assessed upon`the real,estate- abutting on said
<br />La S'ille Avenue all 'according to the method and manner provided for in an Act of the.
<br />General Assembly of the the State of Indiana, entitle d " An Act Concerning municipal
<br />corporations, " approved Parch 6,1905, and ir, accordance with and pursuant to the
<br />provisions of all .amendatory and- supplements; acts thereto, passed by the General
<br />Assembly of the -State' -of Indiana. AssessVAhs, if defarred, are to be paid in ten
<br />annual installments, with interest at the rate -of Six percent per annum, q Bond
<br />or bonds =_shall be issued to the contractor in payment of such work, unless the
<br />property owners -pay said assessment before said bnd or, bonds are ;,issued, -Under no
<br />circumstances shall the City of SouthnBend, be, or be held responsible for any _sum
<br />or sums due from satick property owner or owners for said work or for the collection
<br />of the -same, or for the payment- of any bond, bonds, centif icate or certificates
<br />issued to -the said contr'ac tot in payment for such work, •except for such moneys
<br />as shall have been actually -received by the City from the. assessments for such
<br />improvement,- or such moneys as said City is -by said above 'entitled Act required to
<br />pay' All Tiraeeadings had, and work done in the making of said improvement, assess-.
<br />ment of property; collection of assessments and issuance of bonds therefor, shall
<br />be is provided for -in said above entit.led Act and _ amendments thereto.
<br />Notice of this resolution shall be, published or, the 25t4. day of March.
<br />1919 and on the 1st. , day of April 1919 in the. South Bend Daily Tribune. This
<br />Board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the
<br />lEth., day of April 1919 at 7:`15 P.M.
