Board 'met in Y regular session at 7: 45 P.M. Mr. J. B. Weber absent. <br />Mr. W.. J. Braunsdorf with property owner appeared •be%ore the Board in <br />regard to no sewer tap at 502 E. Sample Street. The Board instructed Mr. Br%unsdorf <br />to have property owner €3 ig trench and AAdtth6y ow®uld pay for repaving. <br />Bill of Hoban & Roach for the amount of $3.49 for 13.33 sq. yds. of <br />Brick pavement taken ap and relaying @ 30 rents at east and west ends of Portage Court <br />was approved by the Board. ° <br />Board ordered that a five day notice be sent to Lorenz Lederer to remove <br />part of his building which extends out in William` Street off of La Salle Avenue. <br />According to law. <br />Twenty#d ay notice ordered sent to the School Trusttees to repair defectir <br />sidewalk walk or construct new sidewalk in front of old High school lot on West <br />Wa.shin§ton Avenues according to law. ° <br />Deferred hearing on Improvement Resolution No. 520 for pavement on <br />Alley north of Washington Avenue from William Street to Taylor Street, in the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana.. <br />In the above matter no remonstrators'appeared and no further written <br />remonstrance was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides; <br />that the benefits to property liable tobe assessed for said improvements are equal to <br />the estimated cost.of said improvement, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and <br />thereupon takes final action on said resolution Fs originally adopted, and the_same <br />is hereby in all things ratified, c onf irmed and ' approved, <br />Resolved further, that notices .be published on the 27th. day of July <br />1917 and on the 3rd. day of August 1917--in the South 'Bend Daily Tribune in sadd <br />City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said iipprove- <br />ment up to 10.00 A.M. on the 7th. day of August 1917. The Board reserves the -right <br />to reject any and all bids. ° <br />In regard to complaint about covering well on Shively property on <br />Niles Avenue, Street Commissioner reports that Officer Jennings reports that he <br />' investigated same and he himself filled and covered up hole, so same is not dangerous <br />now. Same read and filed. <br />Building Commissioner filed report for the month of June 1917. <br />The following deeds were approved by the Board. <br />QUIT CLAIM DEED. <br />THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH, That Fred Thomas and Florcene Thomas (hubband and wife) <br />pf St. Joseph County, in th � State of Indiana quit claim and dedicate to the City <br />of South Bend, for the general use of the public as a part of Ewing Avenue the <br />following described real estate in St. Joseph County in the State of Indiana, to -wit: - <br />A strip of land ten (10) feet in width north and South off of the south end of -lot <br />numbered twenty (20) in Oak Park Fourth (4th.)
