All members present. <br />Deferred hearing had on res-olution f or ' pavement on f irst alley <br />north of Washington Avenue' -from Tayl or Street -to William Street under Improvement <br />Resolution No. 520. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Attorney Stuart lMcKibbin appeared before the Board representing property <br />owners remonstrating against samd Improvement. Mr-. C . APT. Studebaker appeared for said <br />'improvement. The Board. ordered this hearing continued until Tuesday July loth. ,1917 <br />at 7:45 P.M. until further action by the Common Council. (Attorney Seebirt took papers <br />in regard -to said improvement) <br />Hearing had, on Improvement Resolution No. 533 for grade, curb and walk on <br />west side of Miami Street from alley north of Donald Street to Ewing Avenue, in the <br />City of South Ben4, Indiana, <br />Upen:' s-aid- hearing norremonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were <br />filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides tha the benefits <br />to property liable to be- assessed -for-said improvements are equal to the estimated <br />cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final <br />action on said resolution as 'originally adopted, and the same is hereby in -all things <br />ratified, c onf irmed and approved. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 5th. day of July <br />1917 and on the 12th. day of July 1917 in a newspaper of general circulation .in.:said <br />-City, stating that this Board_ will receive bids for the construction of said improve- <br />ments up to 10:00,A.M. on the 17th, day -of `July 1917. The Board reserves the right to <br />reject any and all bids. <br />Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 530. for grade, curb and walk <br />// on Fox Street from -West line of Oak Park 4th. Addition to Miami Street, in the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and. no writteit remonstrance <br />was filed. And the Board b&4g fully advised in the premises, decides that the benefits <br />to property liable to be assessed for said' improvements are equal to the estimated <br />cost- of the same, as reported by the -City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final - <br />action on said resolution as, -originally adopted and the same is hereby in rill things <br />ratified,, c onf irmed and approved. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 5th. day-- of July 1917 <br />and on the 12th. day of July 1917 in a newsppper of general circulation in said City <br />stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvements up <br />to 10: 00 A.M. on the 17th. day of July 1917. The Board reserves the right t6 reject <br />any and all bids. - <br />Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 527 for Pavement on Howard Street <br />from Niles Avenue'to Notre Dame Avenue, in the City of South,Bend, IndIana. <br />Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance <br />was filed. And the Board being fully advised in, the premises. decides that the benefits <br />to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated <br />cost of the same, as reported by the City C iv iL Eng ineer, and thereupon takes final <br />action on said resolution as originally adbpt.ed, m- d the -same is hereby in all things <br />ratified, confirmed and approved. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 5th. day of July 1917 <br />and on the 12th. day of July 1917 in a newspaper of general circulation in said City, <br />stating that this Board wil receive bids for the construction of said improvements up to <br />10:00 A.M. on the 17th. day of July 1917. The Board reserves the right to reject any <br />andall bids. . <br />Resolved by the Board that at the request of the property owners on <br />Howard Street between Niles Avenue and Notre Dame Avenue, that the width of the street <br />be left as it is at present or 42j feet wide. ° <br />0 <br />
