637 Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M. All members present. Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 524. for the pipe sewer on v Chapin°Street ; Garst Street' and Kefiaill`8trcet from Prairie Avenue to Indiana Avenue, In -the City of South Bend, Indiana. - Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance As filed.. And ' the Board being fully advised in the premises, dec ide's that the b enef its to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as peported by the City C iv_.i.l Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said; resolution as modified: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Chapin Street and Prairie Avenue; thence south along the center 'line of?Chapin Street h, to the center line of Garet Street wita 24 inch pipe sewer; thence east along the center line of Garet Street to the center line of Kendall Street with a 24 inch pipe sewer;.thence south along the center line of Kendall Street to the center line of Stull Street with q 24 inch pipe sewer. thence still south along the center line of Kendall Street to the center line of Leon Court with a 20 inch sewer. Alsevbeglnn ng at_the centerline of Gant Street and Kendall Street; thence along the center of Kendall St., 370 feet with an 18 inch pipe sewer. and the same is hereby in:. li: things confirmed, ratified and approved. Resolved further, that notices be published on the 20th. day of June 1917 and on the 27th. day of June 1917 in a newspaper.of general circulation in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of ,said .iprovements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 3td. day of July 1917._ The Board reserves the right to rej-ect'any and all bids. Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 525 for pipe sewer on Catalpa Avenue from Prairie Avenue to Indiana Avenue, in the City of Sauth Bend, Indiana. Upon said hearing no -remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed. And the Board being .fully advised in the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of_ the same, as reported by .the City Civil Engin=aer, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution an Or-ldinally -adopted, and the same is hereby and in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved further, that notices be published on the 20th. day of June 1917 and on the 27th. day of June 1917 in a newspaper of general circulation in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improve- ments up to 10:00 A.A. on the 3rd. day of July 1917. Upon slid hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed, And the Board being fully advised in the premftes, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the esti- mated cost of the same, as re orted by the City Civil Nng ine er, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all 'things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved further, that notices be published on the 20th. day of June 1917 and on the 27th. day of June 1917 in a newspaper of general circulation in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improve- ments un to 10:00 A.M. on the 3rd. day of July 1917. Chapin Street, Garst Street nd Kendall Street from Prairie Avenue to Indiana Avenue, pipe sewer at ........... ............. .................. 414,550.00 Pipe sewer on Catalapa Avenue from Prairie Avenue to Indiana Ave. $3,425.00 V Complaint aboutthe Gas. Company not retamping properly at Studeabker Street near Liston Street. Pavement depressed. The same was referred to the Street Commissioner for investigation. Complaint filed py Councilman Buechner in regard to defective switch on Northern Indiana Ry. Company line on Jefferson Blvd, near Eddy Street, cars passing Jar house etc., This complaint referred to the Street Commissioner for investigation.
