579 <br />The following report was f iled. by the Building Commiss ioner.' <br />TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS: <br />Gent lemen: - <br />Regarding the changes required -to be made in the building owned by the City+ <br />for use by the police department, the following report is submitted: <br />For removing C.I. column, cutting out brick pier and. plac ing Lintel, <br />rehang ing and splicing present gboots and prov id ing one new door, moving sash from second <br />floor to first, building two carpenters saw horses and providing four, 4 X 12" oak <br />planks 12 ft long, an expense of approximately $50. OU will be incurred. <br />The City has the material in the Street Department for saw horses and oak <br />plank, which .might be used for this purpose. <br />Very respectfully, <br />C. A. PERKINS, <br />Commissioner of Buildings. <br />The above was granted , same to be under supervision of the Building Commissioner. <br />The following bond was approved by the Board, <br />KNOW ALL NEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that we, the Welsbaeh Street Lighting <br />1/ Company of America, a corporation, of the State of Illinois, as principal, and the <br />United States Guarantee Company, a corporation of the State of New York as surety, <br />are. held and firmly bound unto the City of .South Bend, Indiana in the just and full <br />sum of $2,000.', lawful money of the United States of America , to be paid to the said <br />City of Soutk Bend, Indiana, their successors or as for which payment well <br />and truly to be, made , we, and each of us, do bind outselves, our and each of our <br />successors and assigns, jointly and severally by these presents. <br />Sealed with our selas this 5th. day of lday,1917. <br />The c and it ion of the above obligation is such that if the said, the above <br />bounden Welsbach Street Lighting Company of America, a corporation of the State of <br />Illinois, shall well perform the. work and furnish the materials mentioned in the <br />accompanying contract, . dated April 23rd.191'j, for the period of five years c ommenc ixg <br />Uay 1,1918 and ending at 'midiight of -April 30th. ,19123, then this obligation to be <br />void, otherwise to remain An full force and virtue. <br />Ambrose F.
