579 The following report was f iled. by the Building Commiss ioner.' TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS: Gent lemen: - Regarding the changes required -to be made in the building owned by the City+ for use by the police department, the following report is submitted: For removing C.I. column, cutting out brick pier and. plac ing Lintel, rehang ing and splicing present gboots and prov id ing one new door, moving sash from second floor to first, building two carpenters saw horses and providing four, 4 X 12" oak planks 12 ft long, an expense of approximately $50. OU will be incurred. The City has the material in the Street Department for saw horses and oak plank, which .might be used for this purpose. Very respectfully, C. A. PERKINS, Commissioner of Buildings. The above was granted , same to be under supervision of the Building Commissioner. The following bond was approved by the Board, KNOW ALL NEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that we, the Welsbaeh Street Lighting 1/ Company of America, a corporation, of the State of Illinois, as principal, and the United States Guarantee Company, a corporation of the State of New York as surety, are. held and firmly bound unto the City of .South Bend, Indiana in the just and full sum of $2,000.', lawful money of the United States of America , to be paid to the said City of Soutk Bend, Indiana, their successors or as for which payment well and truly to be, made , we, and each of us, do bind outselves, our and each of our successors and assigns, jointly and severally by these presents. Sealed with our selas this 5th. day of lday,1917. The c and it ion of the above obligation is such that if the said, the above bounden Welsbach Street Lighting Company of America, a corporation of the State of Illinois, shall well perform the. work and furnish the materials mentioned in the accompanying contract, . dated April 23rd.191'j, for the period of five years c ommenc ixg Uay 1,1918 and ending at 'midiight of -April 30th. ,19123, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain An full force and virtue.
