A. Prevailing Specifications: 2018, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 205 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The Contractor shall be responsible for temporary erosion measures to control erosion on <br />the site and any material leaving the site. All inlets around the site shall be protected from <br />sediment. An erosion plan shall be submitted to the engineer for review prior to <br />construction. The Contractor shall follow IDEM's guidelines. <br />2. The Contractor shall be responsible to maintain all erosion control measures in place until <br />all "Work" is completed at each demolition site. The Contractor is responsible for obtaining <br />Erosion Control permits for sites larger than one acre. <br />3. The Contractor shall follow IDEM's guideline for erosion control as shown in the Indiana <br />Stormwater Quality Manual with weekly inspections and inspections following one-half inch <br />or more rainfall. <br />4. Dirt and sediment from the demolition site shall not to be tracked onto public right-of-way <br />by construction vehicles and any dirt migrating into the public right-of-way due to work on <br />the Project shall be cleaned up daily that is within public right-of-way. <br />5. The Contractor shall provide construction entrance for access to each of the demolition <br />sites, erosion control measures so that rain or snow will not wash dirt or sediment into <br />public right-of-way, and inlet protection for any inlets that are adjacent or near the site. This <br />item will not be measured directly, but shall be included in the Lump Sum Unit Price <br />established in the Demolition. <br />XXIV. ASBESTOS ABATEMENT <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2018, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 202 <br />B. Additions: <br />1, Asbestos abatement is required for most but not all of the properties. Federal, State, and <br />IDEM guidelines must be followed for abatement. All costs associated with removal and <br />disposal including documentation and disposal fees shall be included in the Lump Sum <br />cost for Asbestos Abatement for each of the identified properties. <br />2. Any above ground or underground storage tanks found during demolition shall be drained <br />of all contents, disposal and removal of the tanks and any contaminated ground or other <br />products shall follow Federal, State and IDEM guidelines. The cost associated with removal <br />and disposal shall be included in the lump sum prices for each property. <br />3. The asbestos inspections for each of the affected properties are an indication of what was <br />found and are not to be considered as the only asbestos that may actually exist at those <br />locations. Test results are attached for those properties where asbestos -containing <br />materials were found. The type of material is noted on the Bid Form. The type of material <br />is noted on the Bid Proposed. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all <br />asbestos -containing materials. In the event of additional asbestos containing material has <br />been discovered during the demolition process that was not included in the reports, <br />Asbestos Abatement Unit Pricing supplement to the Bid/Proposal may apply for proper <br />abatement and shall be paid from environmental allowance. <br />a. Prior to removal of the additional asbestos material, the Contractor shall notify the City <br />and the City shall inspect the site to verify and quantify the additional asbestos material. <br />Version 8/16/2018 Special Provisions - 12 <br />
