Indiana Local Business Preference Claim form was submitted H Base Bid $291,600.50 Description Quantity/Unit Unit Price Total Amount ALTERNATE - Additional Cost to Install Sod in lieu of Hydroseed $1 4901SYD $3.15 $4,693.50 Total Base bid Plus Alternate $296,294.00 Contingent Items C -1: Provide and Install New 1000 W MH Lamp $85.00 C -2: Provide and Install New 1000 W Ballast $233.00 C:3: Provide and Install New Luminaire $875.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bids were referred to Engineering and Community and Economic Development for review and recommendation. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Rob Nichols, Engineering recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder C &E Excavating, Inc., in the amount of $277,160.00, which is the Base Bid plus the Alternate and sixteen of the Contingent Item C-3. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded and the Construction Contract approved as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion, which carried. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News, which were found to be sufficient.
