southbound Michigan Street and eastbound Monroe Street are anticipated to be <br />temporarily closed during the Project. <br />2) The Maintenance of Traffic Plan will include preparing a detour sheet for <br />temporary closures at each of the above locations. In addition, sidewalk closure <br />signs will also be required for sidewalk closures near the demolition areas. <br />Sidewalk closure signs will be added on detour sheets. All signing will be shown <br />on the plans as per Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) standards and <br />requirements. Revisions/Additions will be made in general AIA Specifications to <br />include scope of this MOT work. <br />j. Site Restoration -Sidewalk and Pavement Replacement <br />1) The Engineer will prepare site restoration drawings for the site that will include the <br />replacement of sidewalk and curb along the north and east side of the Project. <br />2) Replacement of the traffic signal poles/equipment and brick alleys are not included <br />in this project. <br />k. Bid Alternate Development <br />1) At the direction of the Owner, the Engineer shall develop up to two lump sum bid <br />alternates. Typical examples of lump sum bid alternates are as follows: <br />a. Variation of below grade structural removal requirements <br />b. Variation of the substantial/final completion date. <br />2) Final determination of bid alternates will be completed during the Bid Document <br />Development Task. <br />Bidding Quantities <br />1) The Owner and the Engineer agree that the bidding documents will be developed <br />such that a single lump sum base bid will be solicited for the above and below <br />ground demolition, asbestos abatement, earthwork and site restoration (except <br />sidewalk and curb replacement). <br />2) The Engineer shall develop environmental remediation, sidewalk replacement and <br />curb replacement unit price items. Environmental remediation allowances may <br />also be incorporated into the bidding documents. <br />m. Coordination of Salvage Items <br />1) The Engineer shall coordinate with the Owner specific items that are to remain in <br />place or be salvaged and returned to the Owner as part of the anticipated <br />demolition operations.
