K. Types of Testing <br />Pre -Employment Testing <br />Any individual that seeks employment with or transfers into a DOT safety - <br />sensitive position will be required to take and pass a urine drug test. The receipt <br />of a negative urine drug test is required. If the results of the urine drug test are <br />negative -diluted, the result will be considered negative. If the test was cancelled, <br />Paul's Welding Inc requires the applicant to take and pass a second urine drug <br />test. <br />Anytime an employee of Paul's Welding Inc is off work for 30 consecutive days or <br />more, the employee will be required to take and pass another pre -employment <br />urine drug test. <br />Reasonable Cause Tesfin_g <br />Reasonable Cause referral testing will be made on the basis of documented <br />objective facts and circumstances, which are consistent with the short-term <br />effects of substance abuse. <br />At least one supervisor that has been trained in Reasonable Cause detection is <br />needed to make a Reasonable Cause referral for testing. The training must <br />include ways to determine the signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol use. The <br />supervisor must conclude that the employee is impaired in his/her work <br />performance. Documentation as to the physical appearance, behavioral and <br />performance indicators, speech and body odors of the employee must be <br />completed prior to the test result being received. <br />Examples of Reasonable Cause include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Physical signs and symptoms consistent with prohibited substance use or alcohol <br />misuse. <br />Evidence of the manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of <br />controlled substances, drugs, alcohol, or other prohibited substances. <br />Occurrence of a serious or potentially serious accident that may have been <br />caused by prohibited substance abuse or alcohol misuse. <br />Physical contact (meaning fights), assaults, and flagrant disregard or violations of <br />established safety, security, or other operating procedures. <br />IN <br />
