South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -December 21, 2007 <br />Mr. Witwer asked that item 6.C.(1) be tabled. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. King, seconded by <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission tabled item 6.C.(1) <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2412 related to acquisition <br />of property in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. (1406 S. Franklin, <br />1533 S. Lafayette) <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that Resolution No. 2412 <br />sets the purchase price for 1406 S. Franklin <br />(the former Eckler-Lahey Lumber yard) and <br />1533 S. Lafayette (the former South Bend <br />Foundry) at $205,050, the average of two <br />appraisals of the property. The property is <br />6.1 acres. <br />Mr. King made a motion to approve <br />Resolution No. 2412 related to acquisition of <br />property in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. Mr. Downes seconded <br />the motion. The motion was approved on a <br />vote of three to one with Mr. Peczkowski <br />opposed. <br />(3) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2413 approving and <br />accepting a counter offer for the <br />acquisition of property in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. (1406 S. <br />Franklin, 1533 S. Lafayette) <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that staff has negotiated <br />with the property owners and arrived at a <br />counter offer of $290,000. That figure is the <br />average of the Commission's purchase offer <br />and an appraisal secured by the owner. Staff <br />feels that is a fair counter offer, considering <br />the value of the SW corner of Broadway and <br />COMMISSION TABLED ITEM 6.C.(1~ <br />COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 2412 <br />RELATED TO ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY IN THE <br />AIRPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UREA. <br />(1406 S.
