Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for Gracie, curb <br />-and walk on Indiana Avenue from Walnut Street to Olive Street, under Improvement <br />Resolution No. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared and objected to the <br />condition of the cement sidewalk and curb,but no written remonstrance filed, <br />The Board therefore find that property assessed in assessment roll filed <br />1922 is benefitted in the amount of a ssesssments as shown on said roll, <br />and the Board further find that the assessment roll filer <br />4111-d'atHebfinal estimate allowed 1922 should be and the same are <br />hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved, and the Board ordered the <br />ity Controller notified that the sum of $200.00 be held up until repairs are made <br />to sidewalk satisfactory to the City Engineer. <br />d. <br />Concerning the improvement of the City Hall Court from Michigan <br />Street to 1st, alley West of Michigan Street and 1st, alley West of Michigan Street <br />from Colfax Avenue to La Salle Avenue with asphalt, asphalticc concrete, bitulithic <br />concrete or brick, in pursuance to Resolution No. 1018 the Board finds that no <br />,petition has been' filed with. said Board by a majority in number of the freeholders. <br />.residing on said street to be improved, requesting that it be improved with a <br />different kind of pavement than the kind heretofore adopted by the Board in its <br />preliminary order; and the City Engineer reports that H, N. Barnes is the lowest <br />and b:st bidder for. the kind of pavement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the <br />Board finds that H. N.Barnes is the _lowest and best bidder and hereby lets the <br />contract for said improvement to them and orders that said improvement be made <br />Concerning the improvement of the roadway of City Hall Court <br />from Michigan Street to lst. alley West of Michigan Street and 1st. alley west of <br />Michigan Street from Colfax Avenue to La Salle Avenue with asphalt , asphaltic <br />concrete, bitulithic, or brick in, pursuance to Resolution No. 1018 this being the <br />day,set for the making of the preliminary order designating the kind of pavement, h <br />the Board at 10:00 A,M. Tuesday September 26th., 1922 publicly opened , read and <br />considered all bids and continued their meeting until 7:15 P.M. this 27th, slay of <br />September 1922. <br />filler <br />w1th asphalt <br />Now on last named dat a the Board designated Brick as the kind <br />of pavement with which said street is to be improved and fixes the 5th. day of <br />October 1922 as the time when petitions for changing the kind of pavement must <br />be filed, and the Board hereby continues this matter until the loth. day of <br />October 1922 at 10:00 A.M. on the above named day the Board will either Pass <br />petitions let said contractor reject all bids. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS.
