1.19 GENERAL VEHICLE DESIGN TYPE AND FLOORPLAN <br />The ambulance and the allied equipment furnished under this specification shall be <br />the manufacturer's current commercial vehicle of the type and class specified. The <br />ambulance shall be complete with the operating accessories as specified herein and <br />furnished with such modifications and attachments as may be necessary or specified <br />to enable the vehicle to function reliably and efficiently in sustained operation. The <br />design of the vehicle and the specified equipment shall permit accessibility for <br />servicing, replacement, and adjustment of component parts and accessories with <br />minimum disturbance to other components and systems. The term "HEAVY DUTY" <br />as used to describe an item shall mean in excess of the usual quantity, quality, or <br />capacity that is normally supplied with the standard production vehicle or component. <br />1,20 COMPLETED VEHICLE DIMENSIONAL PARAMETERS <br />The vehicle furnished shall comply with the following dimensions at curb weight: <br />Length, Overall (including rear step) <br />Width, Exterior (excluding mirrors) <br />Wheelbase <br />Height, Rear Loading <br />Height, Ground to Step <br />Ground Clearance <br />Length, Patient Compartment Interior <br />Aisle Space with Cot Installed <br />Width Between Wheel Wells <br />1.21 CURB WEIGHT <br />293" Maximum <br />98" <br />173-176" <br />33" Maximum <br />17.5" <br />5.5" <br />167.25" <br />12" <br />46" minimum <br />The curb weight is the total weight of the complete ambulance and is defined as the <br />chassis, cab, body, and minimum required equipment as required by KKK-A-1822F, <br />and includes a full complement of fuel, lubricants, and coolant shall meet Federal <br />Requirements. <br />1.22 PAYLOAD ALLOWANCE <br />A minimum of 6,000 pounds will be allowed over and above the curb weight for <br />personnel, patient, and miscellaneous support equipment. <br />1.23 INTERIOR HEADROOM <br />73" of interior headroom shall be provided inside the patient area of the body.
