2019 International MV/PL Custom Titan 170 <br />Type I Ambulance Proposal Specification <br />VEHICLE PAINTING <br />PAINTING PROCESS: <br />The entire modular body shall be prepared and painted using the Akzo Nobel Sikkens Paint System. Sikkens products will <br />be used exclusively, and the use of other incompatible products will be cause for rejection of the bidders' response. <br />REQUIRED PAINT PROCEDURES: <br />1. Surface Cleaning <br />2. The vehicle module will be inspected for excess fuser, weld slag, and caulking. All such contaminants will be <br />removed prior to prepping for paint. <br />3. The module will be surface cleaned with Sikkens OTO Degreaser utilizing the "2-Towel" method. One towel will <br />be used to apply the product (saturate and scrub the surface area being cleaned), and one towel will be used to <br />physically dry the area. All proper HS&E practices will be followed. <br />4. The surface cleaner will not be allowed to evaporate by working small areas. <br />5. Both towels will be replaced as they become dirty. <br />6. Inspect the module body during the cleaning process for any surface defects of irregularities. <br />7. The bottom of the module body, the doors, and door openings are to be sealed with a 3M sealantladhesive to fill <br />all gaps and seams to protect against moisture being trapped, and to help protect against corrosion. <br />It. Polyester -Repairs <br />1. All areas requiring body work shall be ground down with 36 grit and feather edged with 80 grit DA. <br />2. All areas with body work shall be filled with Evercoat Z-grip body filler. <br />3. All body work shall be sanded with 80 grit and finished with 180 grit sandpaper. <br />4. Evercoat Eurosoft glazing puffy is applied over any body filler to fill any pin holes and minor waves. <br />5. The glazing putty is to be finish sanded and feather edged with 180 grit sandpaper prior to paint. <br />6, Sand/abrade all areas that require the application of LV260 epoxy primer with 180 grit. <br />7. Thoroughly clean and degrease with Sikkens OTO Surface cleaner. <br />8. Apply Auto Prep Pre -Treatment Wipes to all bare metal or aluminum surfaces extending slightly into the polyester <br />repaired areas and extending far enough on to the substrate to allow the LV260 epoxy primer to be applied inside <br />the Auto Prep Pre -Treatment Wipe area. <br />9. All body work is to be primed with LV260 epoxy primer, and final sanded with 320 grit sandpaper. <br />A4539-0001 08/24/18 <br />51 <br />
