South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -December 7, 2007 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />A. Public Hearing <br />(1) continued... <br />Ms. Laurent noted that the total TIF <br />appropriation being requested for the South <br />Bend Central Development Area is <br />$8,032,000. This is for debt service, <br />infrastructure projects that we currently have <br />obligation for, support of DTSB, legal and <br />professional fees for real estate development, <br />and items such as Coveleski planning, East <br />Bank planning, major acquisitions outlined in <br />the downtown strategy approved earlier this <br />year and additional development <br />opportunities that may arise. <br />There was no one from the public who <br />wished to speak regarding Resolution <br />No. 2397. <br />(a) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2397 a Supplemental <br />appropriation resolution of the <br />Redevelopment Commission (South Bend <br />Central Development Area). <br />Mr. Peczkowski asked why we continue to <br />fund Downtown South Bend at the same <br />level as always. We've been saying that we <br />were going to reduce the city's contribution <br />to this organization. Mr. Inks responded that <br />at this point we don't believe that DTSB is in <br />a position to maintain the same level of <br />services with reduced city funding. We still <br />want to move in that direction, but we're not <br />there at this point. <br />Mr. Peczkowski said he believes the <br />organization has been and continues to be a <br />
