We agree to assist your Engineer in the preparation or modification <br />of your asphalt specifications, if he so desires. <br />7, We will analyse daily samples of the asphalt cement and finished paving <br />mixtures for every day the asphalt plant is in operation on your work, sending duplicate <br />copies of all analyzees simultaneously to your Engineer and to our plant inspector for their <br />mutual quidance and to complete your records in case of some future criticism of the work. <br />8. We agree to assist your Engineer in every possible way toward the <br />success of thr work, offering such personal advice as he may desire with reference to -the <br />proper laying of the mixtures,�etc., Our experienced plant i spector will also be instructed <br />to assist the Engineer whenever so requested , with.the street end of the work so long <br />as same does not inter ere with his proper functioning ab the plant. <br />99 We a ree to furnish our inspector at the paving plant with all the <br />necessary testingapparatus for the proper control of the ingredien s; radin s consis- <br />tencies, temperatures, etc., No will also be provided with printed se <br />of the street, <br />upon which he will report each day the exact location of the work laid that day together <br />with the number of square yards constructed, the number of loads of material sent to the <br />street and the wdight of same, thus keeping a close check on the thickness of the pavement, <br />etc., <br />10. In fact we will do all in our power to insure your City obtainin <br />pavements that are correct from a chemical, physical and constructional viewpoint. Ull.be our earnest endeavor to assist you win huilding monuments to everyone concerned with <br />e improvements, <br />ToT the above service complete we quote you Two and one half' <br />2 ) cents per squa a yard of one -course Asphaltic concrete <br />pa ement and three (r3) cents per square and of Sheet Asphalt <br />pavement laid in two courses our invoices to be rendered each <br />month for the pavement laid the preceding month. <br />For your 'information we wish to state that we have had over twenty <br />three years experience; with all kinds of bituminous pavements in this and foreign . <br />countries and our labo�tatary °is; we belteve , the best °equippped ,for the. accurate testing <br />of asphaltic amnx products in the middlo west. Wilcozen, President the Chicago, Lake Shore & South Bend <br />Railway Company appeared before the -Beard with Mr. T. Gray Prin. Engineer, and stated <br />to the Board. that upon investigation found that their company had surrendered their <br />feanchise and that same was pending when he was up to meeting before and requested hhe <br />City Engineer to Bend him of the various types of pavements and he would <br />take up the matter of pay iaa for part of the improvement between their tracks on La Salle <br />Avenue between Michigan Street and Main Street with the Directors of his Company <br />and advise the Board a ter as to their decsion, also about removing the additional side <br />track now on La Salle Avenue-. <br />+ MF. Chas. Cole appeared before_ithe Board and representing -the Citizens <br />Homes Company and presented the following petiti.ons with blue prints -attached, which were <br />read and placed on file. <br />To vacate west 23 ft . of Chapin Street from north line of Calvert <br />St, to north line of Bruce Street.
