Public Hearing <br /> (2) continued... <br /> expenses related to the Airport Economic <br /> Development Area Allocation Area No. 1. <br /> B. South Bend Central Development Area <br /> (1) Proposal for Michigan Street Shops <br /> Holiday Retail Program. <br /> Ms. Nicholl-Smith noted that last year, with <br /> great success, DTSB launched the region's <br /> first Holiday Pop-Up Shop program. Due to <br /> last year's success, the city intends to offer <br /> established business operators a no-cost, <br /> short-term lease from November 1, 2011 <br /> through January 8, 2012 for both 121 and <br /> 123 S. Michigan Street. The program will be <br /> offered through an application process. <br /> Program participants will be granted access <br /> to the store-fronts as early as October 15th to <br /> set-up their stores. Stores will complete set- <br /> up by October 31st and ready to open for <br /> business by November 1st. The stores will <br /> have their grand openings November 4th in <br /> conjunction with the DTSB First Friday <br /> event. Participants will be allowed time in <br /> January to vacate the spaces after the official <br /> closing date of January 8. Staff recommends <br /> approval of this year's Holiday Pop-Up <br /> Shops program. <br /> Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by COMMISSION APPROVED THE PROPOSAL FOR THE <br /> Mr. Alford and unanimously carried, the MICHIGAN STREET SHOPS HOLIDAY RETAIL <br /> Commission approved the proposal for the PROGRAM. <br /> Michigan Street Shops Holiday Retail <br /> Program. <br /> 7 <br />
