MAJOR CAPITAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />FOR YEARS 2005 - 2008 <br />side of Ironwood. The combined scope of both City and County expense is $4.2 million for 1.5 <br />miles of four lanes. This is planned as a two-year prof ect to be started in 2005, and it will be funded <br />on an 80% basis using federal funds with the remaining 20% funded by the City and County. <br />Funding Source <br />Federal Funds and <br />Activity Date Local Roads and Streets Fund (LRSA) <br />2005 $1,000,000 <br />2007 5,000,000 <br />TOTAL $6,000,000 <br />Projected Ongoing_Operating_Cost Impact <br />Only minimal additional operating costs are anticipated. This existing road is currently maintained <br />by the City. <br />Kern Road Widening (design on1y1 <br />$75,000 (2007) <br />This prof ect entails the design cost only for reconstruction and widening of Kern Road from Miami <br />to Ironwood. Residential development in this area warrants the improvements. This existing road is currently maintained by <br />the City and County. <br />Lilac Road Widening -Cleveland to Brick $1,000,000 (2006) <br />The prof ect entails the widening of this section of road to handle the increased traffic due to the large <br />amount of residential development in this area and planned annexation.
