Superintendent St. Clair requested that Mr. Kohut work with Mr. Moyers to get <br />information to the staff and come back to the May 21 meeting for approval. <br />President Henry asked that Mr. Kohut work with Park staff to bring together all the parts <br />that need to be brought together. <br />V. Approval of Minutes <br />Mr. Goodrich made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held <br />on March 019, 2007 as mailed. The motion was seconded by Dr. Kelly and approved. <br />VI. Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br />A motion was made by Mr. Mullins to approve maintenance vouchers for March 2007 <br />totaling $792,075.81. It was seconded by Mr. Goodrich. There being no further <br />discussion, the motion was passed. <br />VII. Business of the Superintendent <br />1. Superintendent St. Clair reported that the heating bills for natural gas at the <br />Conservatory/Greenhouses were down $41,000 for the December through March time <br />period this year versus last year. This is due to the upgrades that were done as well as <br />closing off unused areas. <br />2. He believed the issue at Tarkington Parl: with the illegally parked semi truck has been <br />solved with the towing of the truck. He thanked Mr. Bodnar, Park Attorney, for his help <br />in finding the legal options necessary to resole-~e the problem. <br />3. The first regional We Can! Training conference will be held in South Bend Apri130 <br />through May 1. It is bein~~ run by the National Institute of Health. A number of <br />dignitaries from Washington as well as Indianapolis are coming in for the event. It will be <br />held at Century Center. <br />4. An "Access To Recreation" grant from the Kellogg Corporation has been applied for. It <br />has to do with handicap accessibility to recreation areas. We were informed last week that <br />we are very much in the running for this grant at Potawatomi Park. It would be for up to <br />$200,000 and requires some matching funds. It would be used for paved walkways, <br />accessible restrooms, etc. He believes we should know something in the next few months. <br />VIII. Comments by the Assistant Recreation Director <br />1. Mr. McMum reported that the Swim Club is hosting a clinic with the Indiana University <br />swimming coach for area swim clubs. We now have 60 team members in the second year. <br />He thanked Dr. Kyle Hoskins for arranging to have the coach here. <br />2. He announced the resignation of Sue Ann Brunty as a Special Events Coordinator for <br />eight years. <br />IX. Comments by the Golf Operations Director <br />1. Mr. Nowacki reported that 25 new golf cars have been delivered with 5 more on the way. <br />They are replacements for older carts. <br />--3-- <br />
