South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting -August 25, 2006 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />C. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(7) Commission approval requested for <br />Authorization for Entry Upon Public <br />Property for property located at 211 <br />Colfax Avenue. <br />Ms. Laurent noted that the City partners each <br />year with Downtown South Bend, Inc. in the <br />sponsorship of Art Beat which highlights our <br />downtown and local artistic talent. This is an <br />access agreement which allows DTSB to <br />direct aesthetic and safety improvements to <br />the property on the northwest corner of Hill <br />and Colfax. The vacant lot will be the scene <br />of a musical stage. Work estimated at <br />approximately $4,000 will be funded through <br />TIF as a donation to Art Beat, however the <br />work done will be a needed improvement of <br />lasting benefit. Many City departments offer <br />in-kind services to this event. Staff <br />recommends approval of the agreement. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded <br />by Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Authorization for <br />Entry Upon Public Property for property <br />located at 211 Colfax Avenue. <br />D. Sample-Ewing Development Area <br />(1) Staff report on acquisition of property in <br />the Sample-Ewing Development Area. <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that staff had presented <br />to the Industrial Revolving Fund a purchase <br />offer in the amount of $147,000 for the <br />Kokoku Wire property at 1217 Walnut <br />Street.
