South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting -August 25, 2006 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />C. South Bend Central Development Area <br />continue ... <br />taxes owed. It also appears there were some <br />levies made in error while that property was <br />owned by anon-profit agency and the City. <br />Staff and legal counsel have been working on <br />this for several months, trying to get this <br />error corrected before the property goes for <br />tax sale. Since the tax sale is fast <br />approaching, the best action at this point <br />seems to be a Petition of Waiver of Taxes. <br />Staff requests the Commission's direction to <br />draft that petition to be submitted to the <br />appropriate bodies. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded <br />by Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission directed staff and legal counsel <br />to draft a Petition of Waiver of Taxes and <br />submit to the appropriate bodies for property <br />located at 201 S. Chapin St. <br />(6) Opening of Bids for roof repair in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(LaSalle Hotel) <br />Mr. Williams reported on the bids submitted <br />earlier in the meeting. KRC Roofing was the <br />lowest responsible bidder at $4,900 (base <br />bid) and $2,900 for the alternate. The <br />combined total is $7,860. Staff recommends <br />accepting the bid of KRC Roofing. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded <br />by Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission accepted the bid of KRC <br />Roofing in the amount of $7,860 for roof <br />repairs to the LaSalle Hotel. <br />COMMISSION DIRECTED STAFF AND LEGAL <br />COUNSEL TO DRAFT A PETITION OF WAIVER OF <br />TAXES AND SUBMIT TO THE APPROPRIATE <br />BODIES FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2O I S. <br />CHAPIN ST. <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE BID OF KRC <br />ROOFING IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,860 FOR ROOF <br />REPAIRS TO THE LASALLE HOTEL <br />69 <br />
