The petition <br />represents the Redevelopment Commission's <br />voluntary obligation to be assessed at a <br />percentage amount equal to all other property <br />owners in the downtown. Staff recommends <br />the Commission's support. <br />Mr. Hojnacki asked if this means <br />Commission-owned property will be <br />assessed the same as business owners. Ms. <br />Laurent responded that that is correct. Other <br />non-profit agencies such as Madison Center <br />and Memorial Hospital will participate also. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded <br />by Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Petition to the <br />Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, for the establishment of an <br />Economic Improvement District. <br />(4) Commission approval requested for First <br />Amendment to Parking Agreement with <br />South Bend Community School <br />Corporation. <br />Ms. Greene explained that the Commission <br />has an agreement in place with the School <br />Corporation for their use of two floors of the <br />Wayne Street garage, related to its new <br />administrative building. The original <br />Parking Agreement contemplated that <br />parking would be controlled through the use <br />of signs on the top two floors which are <br />dedicated to the exclusive use of the School <br />Corporation.
