South Bend Central Development Area <br />() continued... <br />Answer: Yes. <br />• Contribute $1,400,000 toward the <br />$1,600,000 cost of building of "anew <br />pedestrian skyway system...to <br />interconnect the new buildings along <br />the St. Joseph River with the new <br />East Race Parking Structure and <br />Century Center" <br />Answer: Yes <br />• "Construct a new East Bank Gateway <br />Park at the current parking lot south <br />of AM General" <br />Answer: Not required. ~Ue included it <br />because we had picked up that <br />redevelopment wanted that done. <br />• Grant a 10-year tax abatement on <br />improvements to the Rink Site <br />Answer: Yes <br />• Grant a 10-year tax abatement on <br />improvements to property owned by <br />Holladay called the "Waters Edge" <br />Answer: Maybe. It really depends on <br />how the parking situation works out. <br />There was an MOU entered into in 2002 <br />for that site. It involved a TIF district for <br />just that site. If that plan is used, there <br />could be no tax abatement for the Waters <br />Edge project. <br />25 <br />
