South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -May 4, 2001 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />d. Commission approval requested for <br />professional services for properties located in <br />the South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(General lawn maintenance on various <br />properties) <br />Mr. Mathia explained that several vacant lots in <br />the South Bend Central Development Area need <br />maintenance service during the growing season. <br />The maintenance will include mowing, weed <br />control and light policing to keep them clean. He <br />stated that staff received two proposals for the <br />lawn service. One proposal is from Edges in the <br />amount of $50 -$75 per property, bi- weekly. The <br />second proposal is from Dave Gunn Lawn <br />Service in the amount of $40 -$120 per visit. <br />Mr. Mathia request that the Commission <br />approved the proposal from Edges in an amount <br />not to exceed $2,900.00 for the growing season, <br />which is April through October. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the proposal from Edges <br />for general lawn maintenance for properties in <br />the South Bend Central Development Area. <br />e. Commission approval requested for <br />professional services in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. (Demolition of a house on <br />Brick Rd.) <br />Mr. Case explained that the house is located in <br />the U.S. Industrial Park Phase Two and needs to <br />be demolished in order to extend a road from the <br />industrial park to Brick Rd. He stated that staff <br />received three proposals for the demolition of the <br />house and outbuilding and removal of the <br />-5- <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE PROPOSAL <br />FROM EDGES FOR GENERAL LAWN <br />MAINTENANCE FOR PROPERTIES IN THE <br />SOUTH BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT <br />AREA <br />
