South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting— December 21, 2001
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
D. Sample -Ewing Development Area
(Continued...)
(1) Continued...
time frame and $2,000. The staff
recommends accepting the proposal of EIS
in the amount of $900.
Upon a motion by Mr. Caldwell, seconded
by Mr. Faccenda and unanimously carried
the Commission accepted the proposal from
EIS Environmental Consultants to perform a
Phase I Environmental Assessment of three
properties in the 1100 block of S. Michigan
Street in the Sample -Ewing Development
Area.
(2) Commission approval requested for the
Second Amendment to the Agreement for
Professional Services. (Hull and
Associates, Inc.)
Mrs. Kolata explained that Hull and
Associates has been doing a variety of
environmental studies for us in the
Studebaker Area. This agreement is for
general consulting services which cannot be
attributed to the particular testing, but is
more advisory — regarding how we negotiate
with property owners, how to evaluate the
strategy and how to proceed with
environmental remediation. The original
contract was approximately $13,000. We
amended it to not -to- exceed $18,000, and
we are not proposing a not -to- exceed
$25,000. We expect to replace this contract
early next year with a new one, but for now,
the staff recommends approving this Second
Amendment to Agreement.
0
COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM
EIS ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS TO
PERFORM A PHASE I ENVIRONMENTAL
ASSESSMENT OF THREE PROPERTIES IN THE 1100
BLOCK OF S. MICHIGAN STREET IN THE SAMPLE -
EWING DEVELOPMENT AREA
