South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting— December 21, 2001 <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS (CONT.) <br />development; Deluxe Sheet Metal began <br />construction of its new facility; Bosch Corporation <br />invested $2.3M into their new facility which <br />retained over 500 jobs in the city; received $3.8M in <br />state and local funds for the Bosch project; Tire <br />Rack moved into their new 500,000 sft facility; <br />Gibbs Wire moved into their new 200,000 sft <br />facility; Abro Facilities moved into their new <br />13,000 sft office buidling in Blackthorn Corporate <br />Park; Indiana Supply moved into its 25,000 sft <br />facility in the U.S. Industrial Park; Koontz Wagner <br />moved into the former Dynamic Fab building in the <br />U.S. 31 Industrial Park; purchased four residential <br />units to facilitate the improvements on Olive Road <br />in the future; completed design of the new Olive <br />Road. <br />In the Sample Ewing Development Area the <br />followng progress has been made during 2001: land <br />sale to George Podell; land sale for Miami Auto <br />Glass; worked with Collins Music to relocate to <br />Miami Street; sorted out the deed work on New <br />Hope Gospel Church; currently working with <br />United Beverage on relocation to US 31 Ind. Park; <br />currently working with expansion of Real Services; <br />currently working on the acquisition of 57 <br />properties for the South East neighborhood <br />development; currently developing an overall <br />infrastructure /corridor plan for SEDA. <br />In the Studebaker /Oliver Plow Works we negotiated <br />acquisition of Oliver Plow and the former stamping <br />plant property from Allied Products; in conjunction <br />with the UEZ, we submitted a grant application to <br />the Indiana Department of Commerce Brownfields <br />Program for $35,000 to fund a portion of the Phase <br />II Environmental Site Assessment for Area A (grant <br />was approved); conducted a Phase II environmental <br />for area A (south of Sample St.); submitted a grant <br />application to the Indiana Development Finance <br />13 <br />
