South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting— September 6, 2002
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearings
(2) continued...
however, options will be kept open for all
development and the parcel will not be held
for any particular business.
Upon a motion by Ms. Jones, seconded by
Ms. Roemer and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved Resolution No. 1901
amending the South Bend Central
Development Area Development Plan.
(South Bend Central Development Area)
(3) Public Hearing on Resolution No. 1908
amending the Declaratory Resolution for
the Sample -Ewing Development Area.
Mr. Inks reported that Resolution No. 1908
is related to the TJX Project. It was noted
that in TIF areas the real property is
automatically part of the increment for the
area; however, personal property is not
automatic. Resolution No. 1908 designates
AJW South Bend Realty Corporation and
the TJX Companies as designated taxpayers
so that their depreciable personal property is
included as a part of the TIF. The additional
TIF from the personal property of AJW and
TJX is necessary to make debt service
payments on the bonds that are to be issued
in the near future.
Mr. Inks noted that copies of the Notices of
Publication were received from Baker &
Daniels. The public hearing file is complete
and is being held by Baker & Daniels as part
of the bond documents.
14
COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 1901
AMENDING THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL
DEVELOPMENT AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN.
(SOUTH BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA)
