South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting— September 6, 2002
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearings
(1) continued...
Commission have previous commitments in
the River Glen Plaza such as parking, etc.
and this parcel will be added for general
development in the area. The other three
parcels are located on Hill and Colfax
Streets and will be included in the
development plan for a village concept on
the East Bank. Colfax Street will be the
main thoroughfare for the central part of the
village.
It was further noted that the uses ultimately
contemplated for these properties are
consistent with the existing South Bend
Central Development Area Development
Plan and, in order to accomplish that plan, it
is necessary for the Commission to acquire
the properties.
Mr. Hunt opened the Public Hearing on
Resolution No. 1901 and asked if there was
anyone who wished to speak. There being
no one who wished to speak regarding
Resolution No. 1901, Mr. Hunt closed the
Public Hearing for whatever action the
Commission wished to take.
(2) Commission approval requested for
Resolution No. 1901.
Mr. Hunt asked if the Key Bank acquisition
will aid the Press Ganey development.
Mr. Mathia responded that the acquisition
would most closely benefit Press Ganey;
L
4
