South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting— September 6, 2002
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
D. South Bend Central Development Area
(1) continued...
Mr. Inks reported that Resolution No. 1911
was revised to request approval only of the
Memorandum of Understanding on the
Water's Edge Project.
Ms. Greene advised that the correct title to
Resolution No. 1911 is A RESOLUTION
OF THE SOUTH BEND
REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION OF
A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT AND
OTHER RELATED DOCUMENTS
ASSOCIATED WITH THE WATER'S
EDGE PROJECT. Ms. Greene noted that
the Holladay Corporation made a
presentation to the Commission at its
meeting of August 16, 2002 relating to the
former Wharf Restaurant site. There is an
MOU circulating between Holladay
Corporation and City Administration with
respect to that overall project. Currently, the
MOU is in the name of the City. The project
itself will involve a series of actions between
the Commission and the City's Board of
Public Works. In order to set forth all the
obligations, the Development Agreement
will ultimately have to be reduced to the
specific areas that are under the jurisdiction
of the Commission and the areas that are
under the jurisdiction of the Board of Public
Works. Resolution No. 1911 simply
authorizes legal and staff to work toward
negotiation of a Development Agreement
that is consistent with the Memorandum of
Understanding.
✓' 11
