South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Special Meeting— September 27, 2002 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />B. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(2) continued... <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Jones, seconded by <br />Mr. Kahn and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Assignment of <br />Lease in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. (Quizno's Classic Subs, <br />Michigan Street Shops, 131 S. Michigan <br />Street) <br />(3) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1913 relating to <br />acquisition of property within the South <br />Bend Central Development Area by <br />eminent domain. <br />Mr. Mathia advised that Resolution <br />No. 1913 authorizes an offer to be made for <br />property located at 401 E. Monroe Street <br />(Key Bank drive -in facility). The property <br />was put on the Acquisition List by <br />Resolution No. 1901 approved September 6, <br />2002 by the Redevelopment Commission. <br />The property is currently listed for sale by <br />the owners, St. Joseph River Bend <br />Development Corporation. There were two <br />appraisals obtained by staff averaging the <br />offered price of $273,000. Acquisition of <br />the property will assist in achieving the <br />goals of the South Bend Central <br />Development Area Development Plan and, <br />more particularly, the objectives for further <br />development in the River Glen Office Park. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Jones, seconded by <br />Ms. Roemer and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 1913 <br />relating to acquisition of property within the <br />South Bend Central Development Area by <br />eminent domain. <br />2 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE ASSIGNMENT OF <br />LEASE IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA.
