riverwalk which is located on the west side <br />of Madison Center's campus. Ms. Greene <br />asked if Madison Center's comprehensive <br />plan addresses those issues. <br />Mr. Roberts advised that the City was given <br />property and right -of -way to construct the <br />walkway across the Madison campus. It was <br />noted that the walkway is highly used and <br />also adds ambience to the campus. Mr. <br />Roberts requested that Madison Center be <br />notified of future difficulties with access <br />issues. <br />Jeff Gibney of the South Bend Heritage <br />Foundation informed the Commission that <br />Madison Center has included South Bend <br />Heritage in the planning process for future <br />development, particularly in its role as an <br />organizer of development on the northeast <br />side for the NNRO, Northeast Neighborhood <br />Revitalization Organization. Mr. Roberts <br />will be making a similar presentation in <br />early 2003 to the NNRO Board. <br />Mr. Gibney expressed that further <br />development of the Madison site is an asset <br />to future planning and development for the <br />St. Joseph Hospital site; however cautioned <br />he Madison Center on making the available <br />retail and office space affordable for <br />prospective tenants. <br />Mr. Kahn advised that he was excited to see <br />the amount of potential retail included in the <br />Madison Center project, which will <br />hopefully provide stimulus and growth in <br />the area. <br />7.
