South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —March 21, 2003 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />C. Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />proposal for Mowing and Clean -up <br />Contract in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. <br />Mr. Williams reported that eight proposals <br />were requested for a 2003 Spring Clean -up <br />and weekly Mowing Contract in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. Four quotes <br />were received with the lowest bidder being <br />The Center For The Homeless. Staff <br />recommends accepting the proposal from <br />The Center For The Homeless for the 2003 <br />contract. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />ILMr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for a <br />Spring Clean-up and Mowing Contract in <br />the Airport Economic Development Area <br />and authorized staff to retain The Center For <br />The Homeless based on the scope of <br />services and fee proposed. <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />proposals for maintenance work at the <br />Blackthorn Golf Course Clubhouse. <br />(Plumbing Services and Electrostatic <br />Painting) <br />Mr. Case reported that proposals were <br />requested for maintenance work at the <br />Blackthorn Golf Course Clubhouse. The <br />requests are for painting and plumbing work <br />to be done in the men's restroom. Following <br />are the quotes for the two separate projects <br />associated with the request. <br />16 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR A <br />SPRING CLEAN -UP AND MOWING CONTRACT IN <br />THE AIRPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />AND AUTHORIZED STAFF TO RETAIN THE CENTER <br />FOR THE HOMELESS BASED ON THE SCOPE OF <br />SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED. <br />
