South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —March 21, 2003 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />A. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(4) continued... <br />Staff recommends accepting the lower of the <br />two bids from Warner & Sons in the amount <br />of $6,340. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />demolition services in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area and authorized <br />staff to retain Warner & Sons based on the <br />scope of services and fee proposed. <br />(5) Commission approval requested for <br />Security Contract for Main & Colfax, <br />Wayne Street and Jefferson Street <br />garages. <br />Mr. Williams reported staff is requesting <br />approval for a Security Guard Service <br />Agreement with Mikolajewski & Associates <br />for a term beginning Friday, March 21, 2003 <br />through July 1, 2003. Monies have been set <br />aside to cover the expenses of beginning the <br />program in March, instead of the projected <br />start date of April 1, 2003. This contract <br />will include a security guard at the Main & <br />Colfax garage and two security guards at the <br />Wayne Street garage. A guard will be <br />scheduled at the Jefferson Street garage as <br />needed according to the Century Center <br />Special Events schedule. <br />Ms. Greene noted that an attorney in the <br />City's Legal Department reviewed the <br />contract in her absence; however, she has <br />13 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />DEMOLITION SERVICES IN THE SOUTH BEND <br />CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA AND <br />AUTHORIZED STAFF TO RETAIN WARNER & SONS <br />BASED ON THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE <br />PROPOSED. <br />
