South Bend Central Development Area <br />(2) continued... <br />Mr. Hunt asked if the full garage was back <br />in use at the present time. <br />Mr. Mathia responded that it was. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Jones, seconded by <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />engineering services in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area and authorized <br />staff to retain Paul Fujawa Engineers, Inc. <br />based on the scope of services and fee <br />proposed. (Jefferson/St. Joseph Street <br />Garage) <br />(3) Commission approval requested for <br />IL proposal for maintenance services in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(Jefferson /St. Joseph Street Garage) <br />Mr. Williams advised that upon inspection, <br />cracking was found in the basement area of <br />the Jefferson/St. Joseph Street Garage. The <br />cracking requires the temporary shoring up <br />of two support beams. This emergency <br />maintenance service was contracted with <br />Kaser - Spraker Construction in an amount <br />not to exceed $1,000. Staff noted that this is <br />a precautionary measure to ensure the safety <br />of people using the garage, until such time <br />as the garage can be closed for repairs. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded <br />by Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />maintenance services in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area and authorized <br />staff to retain Kaser - Spraker Construction <br />based on the scope of services and fee <br />proposed.
