6. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(8) continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded <br />by Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />professional services in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area and authorized <br />staff to retain Lang, Feeney and Associates, <br />Inc. based on the scope of services and fee <br />proposed. (CAD work & Legal Descriptions <br />for new expansion area) <br />B. Sample -Ewing Development Area <br />(1) Receipt and opening of bids in connection <br />with property located on the southeast <br />corner of Sample and Carroll Streets in <br />the Sample -Ewing Development Area. <br />(East Sample Street Properties) <br />Mr. Rock advised that no bids were received <br />regarding the East Sample Street Properties <br />as of 10:00 a.m. this morning, and it was not <br />necessary for the Commission to take any <br />action. <br />(2) Staff report on bids received for property <br />located at 533 S. Chapin Street in the <br />Sample -Ewing Development Area. <br />(Oliver Industrial Park) <br />Mr. Laurent reported that two bids and a <br />Letter of Interest for land in the Oliver <br />Industrial Park were received at the May 2, <br />2003 Commission Meeting. <br />The Letter of Interest was submitted by <br />Mr. James Butler, President of Underground <br />Pipe & Valve, Inc. The letter stated they <br />were not submitting a bid at this time, but <br />11 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN THE SOUTH BEND <br />CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA AND <br />AUTHORIZED STAFF TO RETAIN LANG, FEENEY <br />AND ASSOCIATES, INC. BASED ON THE SCOPE OF <br />SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED. (CAD WORK & <br />LEGAL DESCRIPTIONS FOR NEW EXPANSION <br />AREA) <br />NO BIDS RECEIVED. <br />
