Redevelopment Commission Meeting
%wiRegular Meeting — August 20, 2004
approved the proposal submitted by
Architectural Design Group for professional
services in the South Bend Central
Development Area as submitted and approved
payment of fees to adg for the scope of
services and fee proposed.
(2) Commission authorization requested from
Downtown South Bend, Inc. to use
property at Hill and Colfax Streets on
September 9, 2004 in connection with Art
Beat.
Mr. Mathia noted that Downtown South
Bend has requested permission to use
Commission property located at the corner of
Hill and Colfax Streets for the upcoming Art
Beat event. This property was previously
owned by the Bryants and recently acquired
IL by the Commission. DTSB requests use of
the property for artists and musicians
participating in Art Beat. No food or alcohol
will be served at the location. Art Beat runs
from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Additional time
in the early afternoon and late evening may
be required for setting up displays and taking
them down. The event will contribute to
improving the vitality of the downtown
which is a major objective of the
Commission. DTSB has submitted a
certificate of insurance indemnifying the city.
Ms. Greene noted that the City of South
Bend is named an additional insured on the
certificate of insurance, but the
Redevelopment Commission is not. She
asked Mr. Mathis to have DTSB add the
Commission as an additional named insured.
Mr. Kahn declared a potential conflict of
interest based on his position as chair of
c
BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA AS
SUBMITTED AND APPROVED PAYMENT OF FEES
TO ADG FOR THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE
PROPOSED.
