South Bend Central Development Area <br />(3) continued... <br />Staff recommends accepting the proposal. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />Mr. King and unanimously carried, the <br />PROPOSALS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN THE <br />Commission approved the request for <br />SOUTH BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />proposals for professional services in the <br />AND ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM DANCH <br />South Bend Central Development Area and <br />HARNER & ASSOCIATES FOR THE SCOPE OF <br />accepted the proposal from Danch Hamer & <br />SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED. <br />Associates for the scope of services and fee <br />proposed. <br />(4) Commission approval requested for <br />Professional Services in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area. (Appraisals, <br />Hotel LaSalle) <br />Mr. Mathia noted that staff requested <br />proposals for the appraisal of property <br />located at 227 N. Michigan Street <br />(commonly known as the Hotel La Salle). <br />The property was acquired earlier this year <br />by the Commission. Staff is now preparing <br />for its disposition. Two appraisals are <br />needed as part of the disposition process to <br />determine the asking price. Four appraisers <br />were contacted, all MAI certified: Jerome <br />Michaels Appraisal Company, R.E. Pitts & <br />associates, R.E. McCloskey & Associates, <br />and Ralph Lauver. Only Jerome Michaels <br />and R.E. Pitts submitted proposals. Mr. <br />McCloskey and Mr. Lauver notified staff that <br />they would not submit a proposal because <br />they are too busy with other work. <br />11 <br />
